The Yaringa Fishing Club
The Yaringa Fishing Club operates out of the Yaringa Marina in Somerville, Victoria. This gives us great access to one of Australia’s most prized fishing waters – Westernport Bay.
Most of our Members have their boats stored at Yaringa Marina (but this not a requirement for membership however), and if you’ve got your fishing boat at Yaringa this is a great way to get to know ‘the locals’.
The Yaringa Fishing Club was officially incorporated on the 4th of September 2008. Over the last decade things have changed monumentally for the club. Once upon a time, club meetings were held in a Rotunda outside, or at the Caravan Park next door.
These days, we’re thrilled to have our own dedicated Clubrooms to call home, with a healthy membership base and great club culture. We have a very dedicated Committee that ensure the club runs smoothly, and great members who all work together to ensure that this Club is one of the best in the local area.
We’re a family-oriented club, so if you’re thinking of joining and have kids – feel free to involve them too. We run competitions regularly, and celebrate good ‘Mateship’, ethical recreation fishing practices and celebrate having a very warm and inclusive fishing club, where everyone is welcome.
We meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month (except on Public Holidays) and usually have a BBQ before each meeting, where you’ll have to the opportunity to connect with other members and chat all things boating and fishing.
